Leather shopping (for a good travel dufflebag)!

I plan to travel light on my first trip to Ecuador (carry-on only), but am hoping to find a nice duffle bag in Cotacachi's leather shops (to haul home all my souveniers from Cotacachi and Otavalo!). I read all about the great leather items there, and wonder what experience others have had.

Cotacachi is one of my favorite places in the world. Its so clean, tranquil, and beautiful. You'll be able to find bags that the indians make in Otavalo. In cotacachi the leather bags may be a little pricey. I bought a duffle bag off the street from some guy. Make sure you come home with a least a leather jacket from Cotacachi

"Restful Stay"
Looking for a place to be able to gain twice the level of "Living" for my dollar, I ended up here in Cotacachi, Ecuador. It is NICE. The People are Nice - the town is clean - the rates are low - the food is GOOD and at the best restaurants in town, the most expensive items are under $10. Some of the standard "Blue Plate Specials" are $1.50. Hostals are $5 and hotels can be had for $25. If you want to ride a horse, they will bring it to your hotel at a low rate ($5). Not much night life - no bars - but they do have 80 cent beer (Pilsner).
