I was wondering if ayone had heard of Gensis Volunteer Program. I have found their web page and it sounds interesting but would like to hear from people who have been there to see if it is as they represent it.

Volunteers from all over the world come to the pleasant coastal town of Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador to teach English to children.

A week in Baiha

"Clean, safe, freindly, charming"

Baiha is beautiful town with a great promanade on the ocean. In contrast to the big city of Guayaquil, there are no armed security guards visible untill you go to the bank. The police presence on the streets is minimal.

"Dull, predictable"

There appears to be only one disco. There is no movie theater. Things get very quiet on weeknights. At sunset, the teenagers cruise the Malacon on motor scooters, ATVs, or in cars. No one drives fast. There are no loud exxhaust noises or boom boxes, just people enjoying seeing eachother.

Except enjoying the sun in this small beach resort, there is not much to do : so, go to the Museum !

A part profiter du soleil dans cette petite station balneaire, il n'y a pas grand chose a faire : alors, allez au musee !
