La Vista Hotel: La Vista the best in Canoa
We arrived in Canoa late at night after taking the late ferry across since we had a car. In the dark, we stumbled into Hotel Bambu since we had read so much about it and a local had recommend we stay there. Although we loved Bambu's atmosphere, staff and location we had lots of bug bites the next morning. Since we planned to stay a week, we pakced up the next morning and searched ALL around for the best hotel since this was a late honeymoon for us. Ultimately, we found and loved La Vista Hotel (next door to Coco Loco). Located right on the beach with a balconey, La Vista provided clean sheets, towels, beds and did not require sleeping with a mosquito net. The hotel is tastfully decorated with local art. We slept to the sound of the waves for $20 a night and enjoyed the lovely staff each day. Canoa is a great place to relax, surf, walk the long stretch of beach, eat fabulous Mariscos (try Cafe Flor) and ceviche and just chill.

Hosteria Sol y Luna: Comfortable and Reliable Accomodations
We had the chance to stay two days at Hosteria Sol y Luna in Canoa. It is on the main road, near the stop where the bus travelling the coast will leave you. The cost for our stay in a single room, (Queen size bed) and private bathroom, (no hot water) was $28.00. We found the room to be comfortable and clean. Our room on the 3rd floor had a balcony and outside our room's door there were a couple of beach chairs to relax and soak in the sun if so desired.
The hostel's attendant was friendly and courteous, he was very helpful in providing laundry service for us when we asked, (we had run out of clean clothes to wear!)
There is a shower and faucet on the first floor to rinse off salt water or any sand carried from the beach before you go into your room.

Hosteria Bamboo: The best accomodation in Canoa
This is a hybrid between a guest-house / bed & breakfast / campground / hotel, because it has all the availabe services in an interesting setup. You can get rooms with shared or private bathrooms, ($7 and $8 per person respectively), or you can get a bungalow with room for 4 people, or you can camp. It also has a kitchen and a well equipped bar.
The hotel is owned by a Dutch man who has lived in Ecuador for quite a while now. Originally it catered mostly to foreign backpackers, but the secret has been revealed to Ecuadorians as well.
In the afternoon from 5:30 to 7:00PM, happy hour starts, and you can enjoy 2 of your favourite drinks for US$1.40!! Needless to say it can get quite wild.
Besides from food and accomodation, they also rent surfboards and horses. If you want to relax, they have hammocks, and if you'd like to play games, they have pool tables and boardgames.
