  • One of my favourite places in Quito, the breakfast is to die for, and its staff is very friendly and helpful. Considering its location - La Mariscal, the heart of Quito -, it's a good deal. It's not too far away, by taxi or bus from, Quito's old town.

    Three blocks from Avenida Amazonas a quiet place.

    Clean rooms in an old house. Well maintained, a lot of wood give a comfortable atmosphere. Excellent breakfast with real bread, fruit juice, eggs, good coffee, is not included, but between 2 and 3 $. Internet 2 $ an hour. German owner has a lot of information. Also English speaking staff.

    Not a very glamorous place to stay but for anybody on a budget it's more than suffficient and extremely cheap at around $5 per night for a shared room. The staff is super friendly, they serve a good breakfast, and have a ton of tourist info to access. Also very well located. Showers have hot water.

    Chicago hostel is on the street above San Blas Square, very conveniently located near the Old City and near the Metro bus stop. It's family run so you will enjoy familiar atmosphere and genuine smiles by the people running it. They will help you out with whatever you need. The rooms are clean and comfortable with hot water and cable TV. They cost 6.50$ for dorms, 6,50$ each in a double room with shared bathroom, 8,50$ each for triples and doubles with bathroom and 9,00$ for a single with bathroom. Internet access and the kitchen are available for the guests. There are lockers and luggage storage service.
    But you haven't heard the best yet...breakfast tastes better here...because it is served on their amazing roof top terrace with great views of the city! And it is included in the price.

  • After our bout of expense at Cafe Cultura we went for the cheaper option Hostel. Crossroads (coming from Birmingham, for those of you that know the Ex-soap opera) was in the centre of Gringo Landia and surrounded by all the amenities we required. The double rooms are large and clean. There is a kitchen, TV room and Cafe on site. Our only issue was that the room seemed to get slightly damp, check this out before accepting the room as they may have sorted it out. We got the room for $11 per person per night.

  • We stayed 6 nights here , using this hotel as our base in Quito as we travelled around Ecuador.
    We were very happy with the Eugenia Hotel . It's bright and clean , only 4 years old and the staff are very friendly. There is unlimited internet use and a very good breakfast every morning.
    If you book directly with the hotel they will have a cab waiting for you at the airport ..Free!!

    Excellent location , right in the center of New Town ...lots of restaurants and a short walk to Amazonas Ave.

    The staff are very helpful with recommending restaurants and arranging tours.

  • Very clean, comfortable, pleasant rooms. Wonderful food. Very friendly, efficient and extremely helpful & courteous staff. Free internet. Very very good value.

    A very warm and inviting Hotel; an extremely pleasant experience. Words do not do this hotel justice; we highly recommend the Eugenia Hotel in Quito.

    This is not a large hotel, but the incredible decor and attention to detail rivals anything we've experienced in our 25 years of travel. We have never taken so many photos of one place! There are lots of cozy sitting areas, wonderful carved glass decor, intricate archways, ceiling frescos.

  • This was a quite friendly hotel. I have traveled the globe but I have yet to find such freindly service. They were very nice even though my reservation did not show up on their computer. They put me in a nice room with a corporate discount even thought I could show no proof of the reservation. The company I was traveling for just forgot to make the reservation. In most places I could have gotten a room but I would have had to pay a premium for just showing up and asking for a room. While I only stayed the night, I would like to go back when I have more time.

    Hey, I was reading some of the reviews - someone said its like any other Sheraton, well he sure hasn't been to The Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London, this is a Sheraton and let me tell you - its a dump compared to the Sheraton in Quito, so take it from me its above the rest
