Anyone interested in weaving, spinning or any fiber arts must go to the Otovalo market. The nearby village of Carabuela is home to many weavers with ancient backstrap looms. They are friendly and I have been honored with demos in various homwes. The tapestry weavers of Peguchi (a short hike from Otovalo)adeptly weave their colorful offerings.I love the sight of the streets of old town disappearing out of sight up the mountainsides.
