Great hotel in Quito
I stayed at 2 hotels in Quito. As part of my G.A.P. trip, I stayed several days at the Sierra Madre then changed to the Vieja Cuba both in the New Town both in the price range of $40/single/day. The Vieja Cuba was far superior to the Sierra Madre as it had cable TV, nice patio, nice restaurant and friendly people. The Sierra Madre was adequate but for the same price the Vieja Cuba was much better and newer. Convenient location in New Town with multiple language cable TV, nice restaurant, helpful staff. A good value in Quito. It has been open since July, 2002, so everything is new and modern unlike the Sierra Madre which is much older.
