Although I booked a single room, I was given a room with two twin-size beds. This means the room was fairly big for a single person. I asked for a "non-smoking" room & I did not detect any odor of tobacco or smoke. The bathroom's shower had good water pressure & I had no problem getting consistent hot water while bathing. The bathroom is a fairly good size.
The room has a color TV with cable.
Their website indicates that the room has a in-room safe. This wasn't true for my room.
A free breakfast is offered. It consists of coffee, tea, milk, juice, eggs, & bread.
If you like to sleep-in, the noise from guests eating breakfast and talking echos throughout the hostal. It never bothered me because I'm an early riser.
The hostal has two floors. The upstairs floor is covered with wood so there's noise when people walk on it.
The hostal has TWO exterior doors. The first exterior door is usually open which leads into a 25-foot hallway. The next door is locked and you ring a bell and the desk clerk will open the door. If you stay out late to drink and dance the night and early morning away (I came back around 2:30 AM), be aware that first exterior door will be closed and locked. You might think that you're locked out for the night and there's no way to alert the desk clerk, but don't despair. On the left side of the door about 7 feet from the ground, there's a small white buzzer to alert the desk clerk. The desk clerk will probably be sleeping so it'll take him a few minutes to wake up to open the door.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is remarkably clean. If you like a hostal with a lot of character, you'll enjoy this place. It is not a backbacker-type hostal. It's more like a family bed-and-breakfast hostal.
