This is a typical colonial hotel in Ecuador. The rooms all surround an (in the case) indoor courtyard. The Inca Real has an excellent downtown location, and has a variety of rooms and room types, with an accompanying range of prices.
My advice is to get the bigger rooms. They're a LOT bigger and they're not that much more money.
The hotel is clean, quiet and located well. The morning breakfast is very filling and well-cooked. There are an assortment of local eateries within an easy walk of the Inca Real.
We stayed several nights in February 2007. Our room cost $US 45.14 for two persons, including tax and breakfast. Most rooms are large, and all are quiet. All room windows open onto interior courtyards.
Three colonial houses joined into one charming hotel. There are three interior courtyards. The first is the hotel lobby and breakfast room, the second has a lovely fountain, and the third is a quiet hidaway.
