Hard to beat for the money?

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 20, 2014

We stayed at this hostel for one night before flying home in March 2014. We paid $45 total for one night. Price included breakfast, however, we left way to early too early to experience it. Room was clean, had private bath with shower, A/C, rather basic. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful, printing boarding passes for us for our departing flight and awakening at 4AM to call us a cab, even accompanying us downstairs to see we got off safely. Our room was on the 7th floor where the reception, kitchen and community room are. They also have rooms on the 3rd floor but I have no knowledge of what they may be like. My own complaint is the traffic noise which was quite loud, even up that high and ran all night long. But, this is most likely a problem with many of the hostels in downtown Guayaquil. I would stay at this hostel again.

Unique Quality: Great staff.

It's a nice little hostal. Don't be afraid for the first look from outside. Rooms are clean and it's a safe place to stay. If you want to negociate they will give you the double room with breakfast for 30 $. Rooms in the 3rd floor are similar to the room in the 7th floor. Hostal is usually used by young peoples and backpackers. Hostal is ubicated in Velez y Boyaca only 50 meters away from 9 de Octubre Avenue. Places like Parque Seminario, Malecon 2000 and las peñas are in walking distance.
