Funky artsy hotel facing the Malecon.

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 21, 2014

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in Feb 2014. We paid $50 total/night which included a buffet breakfast with cooked to order eggs. We stayed in the 'Green' room, one of the two rooms on the 2nd floor which have a shared bath. Free Wifi, A/C. Room was clean. Rooms with private bath in this hotel are significantly higher priced. This hotel does not have an elevator.
First and foremost; I can not say enough good things about the staff. Both the ladies we dealt with at reception spoke excellent English. They were great, assisting us with taxis, even helping us procure a shared van to Cuenca when we returned a week after we had checked out to pick up some checked luggage they were holding for us.

Unique Quality: Fantastic staff. On the Malecon, really great location. Rather funky decor, many 'Art' objects made out of recycled materials.

Directions: Facing the Malecon near Avenida 9 Octubre.
