Cara Lodge is a colonial-style building and has two floors of rooms above a ground floor that contains a restaurant, patio bar area, business center, etc. The rooms have been described by others as "having seen better days," but it's not all that clear that they were anything all that luxurious at any point in time. That said, they are comfortable if somewhat shabby, and contain pretty much all a traveler needs: AC, comfortable beds, free wi-fi, a good-quality TV with a surprising number of US channels, a fridge, electric kettle with tea- and coffee-making supplies, and a bathroom with hot water and a decent shower. Hair dryers and an iron/ironing board are also provided; laundry service is available. Breakfast is tasty and ample, if not gourmet. The wi-fi is a little spotty in the rooms but works fine on the ground floor.
Unique Quality: The location is pretty central--just a few blocks to Regent St. (the main commercial strip) and Georgetown's few sights.
