Exploring Paraguay's Capital
Like the rest of the country, Asuncion, Paraguay's capital, sees few visitors, but offers enough interesting sights to make it worth a visit. The old city centre has plenty of monuments, museums, parks and plazas, and there's a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants too.
The lack of gringos in Paraguay means that the few that are there stand out. We had met an Aussie/NZ couple in Encarnacion, and we saw them again in Asuncion - never mind that these are two fairly big cities!
