Aregua and the tren del lago

Aregua is on Lago Ypicacarai (opposite San Bernardino). It is around 30 minutes outside of Asuncion. It is very quiet and calm here. The most interesting things here are the church and the train del lago, which is the oldest train in South America. Today it serves mainly as a tourist attraction and connects Asuncion and Aregua. There are also several handicraft stores with clay and ceramic artefacts as well as the famous colorful spiderwebs, the nanduti
