We stayed at the Hotel Florida in Paraguay for two weeks at the end of March, 2007 and found it very clean and the air conditioning a blessing! The hotel restaurant was neat and clean and the food was excellent. The employees of the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to all who travel to and through Filadelfia and if I am to ever go back to Filadelfia, this is where I'll be staying!
The hotel had a clean and refreshing pool surrounded by a hedge which made for great privacy between the hotel and the hotel parking lot.
I've been twice in this hotel. The first time was really bad, because I crashed my car at the Trans-Chaco route (at that time [1980] it was just a dirt road). It was a short stay because I was picked up with a small Cessna airplane from the local airport after a few hours.
The second time was in 1997 and I stayed a night for a stopover.
No alcohol. No TV. No .... you name it, but remember: this is a Mennonite Hotel.
Great early and healthy lunch (with uncooled milk straight from the cow).
Beware, I spoke somebody who got an electric shock under the shower. The shower head has an electrical heater.
Directions: From the Trans-Chaco just enter the road. It's at the right 2 blocks from the major intersection and opposite the big (Mennonite) supermarket.
