When we were in Huancacalle we stayed in two places. The firtst one was the only real hostal in the town. But when we discussed the price the owner charged a lot just because he had the only hostal in town. We got a bit pissed off and decided to go to our guide Juan. He is planning to start a hostal in 2006. He allready had some beds so we rented a room (we were his first clients).
The place was very basic, but so is the area (being off the beaten path shouldn't be done in luxury). He is planning to do some reconstruction in the near future.
The family of Juan was just amazing and saying goodbye was hard.
When we left Juan gave me the future name of the hostal the adres and a phonenumber of the town. Too bad the booklet where all the info was in got stolen on the last bus to Lima. So if anyone of you gets here please ask his adres and send it to me (would love to write him a letter).
