    The Savoy Hotel in Cusco was once the nicest hotel in Cusco; however, it is showing its age a little now. The service is still excellent. One disadvantage is that it is not that close to the Plaza de Armas (3/4 mile).

    One warning...the rooms in the front have great views from their balconies but they are noisy at night with Avenue el Sol in front and the park across the street.

    The picture also shows the ubiquitous Cusco tour buses.

    The lobby and dining room are very nice. I thought the gift shop was quite good and reasonable (see my shopping tip). The dining room opens at 5:00 AM so guests can have breakfast before they leave on the 5:30 AM train to Machu Picchu.
