My visit to the Machu Picchu, unforgettable and unmissable.... Going to the Machu Picchu from Cuzco means taking a train at 6am, and getting to Aguas Calientes 3 hours later. Once there, you need to take a bus, a 30 minute steep and scary ride to finally get to the Machu Picchu.You can also of course get there by doing the Inca trail, if you are in shape and have the time to.Once there, the entire world suddenly makes sense... it's astoundingly beautiful, peaceful, magical, serene. Simply indescribable.
After only two hours, we had to head back to Cuzco with the same train because we had organized a one day trip. Don't make that same mistake: I would highly recommend to stay one night in Aguas Calientes and thus have plenty of time to enjoy this sacred site, especially in the morning when the daytrip tourists have not arrived..
