Staying Close to Pisac Market

by written on August 11, 2014

The town of Pisac is situated just 45 minutes from Cusco and even closer to other attractions in the Sacred Valley. It has a beautiful location in the valley surrounded by mountains with the Wilkamayu River or Sacred River (Urubamba River, the Vilcanota and Wilkamayu are all the same river) running through the valley. Pisac makes a good base for exploring this local region and if you're considering a stay in Pisac itself, look no further than the Pisac Inn which is located directly on Pisac Market. We did not have the opportunity to enjoy a stay here, but had just a look inside because the Inn has a very interesting and appealing exterior facade which you can see in the accompanying photo taken by my better half.

With only 11 rooms to let, you'll find that this small inn has local charm and quiet but inviting atmosphere. The twin, double, king and family rooms all of which are en suite also provide a bottle of water, along with locally handmade organic shampoo, soap and conditioner, and coca candy. Each room has a unique decor of individual wall color, hardwood floors and handcrafted furnishings. The Andean woven runners found on the beds really are a nice touch! Each room also comes furnished with a small wardrobe, hairdryer and flat, and round plug outlets of 220 voltage electrical service. Please note that rooms do not have TVs or phones. However, Wi-Fi is available in most common areas of the hotel and use of a computer with Internet, a large flat screen television with satellite, books and games are all offered in a downstairs sitting room.

Breakfast is included in the room price and is served from 7:30 to 9:30 am and offers "a choice of fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, or eggs, or oatmeal with Andean grains; with freshly baked bread from the local oven, homemade jam, real butter, fresh fruit juice, and a choice of tea or coffee" ~ from their website. The owners have even included afternoon teatime in the downstairs sitting room is complimentary for hotel guests only.

For a very small hotel, it offers a number of very important services such as: room service, wake up calls; security box in office; luggage storage; in-room massage - USD $35 full hour; guide and spa services arrangement; laundry service; and maybe most importantly, airport pickup - USD $35 one way. The Inn can also boast of having its own attractive and cozy restaurant, "Restaurant Cuchara de Palo," or "the wooden spoon" which not only serves the aforementioned breakfast, but also lunch and dinner from 12 - 8:30 pm (last order) and you can enjoy your meal in a number of settings: by the fireside in the dining room, at the sidewalk tables, on the upstairs balcony or in the interior courtyard --- who wouldn't be pleased with these choices!

Room rates currently range from s/ 143 soles for a twin/single to s/ 238 for a family room consisting of one double bed and one twin bed. Payment is accepted in soles, US dollars (in good condition) or Visa and Master Card. They do not accept American Express. Acceptance of credit cards is contingent upon the Inn being able to process your credit card at that time.
Check the Inn's website for deals and specials!

This is my final tip on Pisac and I hope these pages have been interesting as well as helpful.

Directions: The Inn is located on the Plaza Constitución adjacent to the Blue Llama Cafe and directly across from Pisac Market.

Located right on the plaza. Sweet, friendly, local, and great price for my stay. For one person or the whole family. The restaurant as well is the best food in Pisac. Highly recommend Pisac Inn and Cuchara de Palo restaurant.

Unique Quality: A hot and strong flowing shower, wi.fi, free tea time and the best Pisco sours around. Friendly staff and the owners come in and out who are amazing and lovely.

Directions: Right in the heart of the plaza market.
