Well, first, I would do a Google search on the destination. Then, I would consult a Travel Agent. Silly but true!

A very, very long time ago. I had a weird sort of fascination with a place called "Hot Water", so I went. Hostels, I can't help you out with, Hotels maybe. It's a beautiful place, and not many tourists....

Travel Tips for Aguas Calientes
Aguas Calientes
by TracyLB
Aguas Calientes is a small village about 8 kms. from Machu Picchu. We took the train from Ollantaytambo and stopped here for a few days before visiting Machu Picchu. I thought it was just a lovely little village surrounded by mountains..

Built on either side of the railway line, Aguas Calientes serves as a tourist spot for those wishing to see Machu Picchu and also partake in the hot springs. Not a big town and not an ATM or bank in sight so bring your money with you!
Lots of interesting faces and people in the Andes. This woman was operating a rug stand.
There's a fair amount of shopping to be found in Aguas Calientes...all geared toward the tourist.
