This old classical peruvian hotel is one of the best options if you want to stay on a budget in central Lima. It is located in a traditional Lima house, just a few meter from Plaza de Armas. Inside the hotel there are a labyrinth of rooms. I was given a room ON THE TOP TERRACE, just at the very top of the 3rd floor and, the first time, it took me about 15 minutes to get there, climbing stairs, taking wrong corridors, crossing patios with bars terraces, full of plants, crossing from one terrace to another... but it was worth the effort, as the views were great and all surrounded by plants, you could see all Lima roofs. I reserved via internet in advance, as I wanted them to pick me up at the aiport, but they came late, so I finally took the Urbanito bus, which is rather convenient too. The room was simple but clean. Showers outside.
6 USD for a single room. At walking distance for any touristic place in historical Lima centre. Very good. Conveniently located in Miraflores. 1 Block from the Parque Kennedy and the Calle de las Pizzas. Many many restaurants, fast food chains, bars, shops, laundry, ATMs, supermarket, department stores, souvenir shops (Avenida Petit Thouars) all close by within walking distance. Short taxi ride to Larco Mar. Safe. Not expensive, around € 55 a night per room breakfast included. Airco, complete bathroom, soundproof. Restaurant and bar and room service open 24 hours. My favorite when I'm in Lima-Miraflores. In my opnion better than Posada del Inca Miraflores and the Best Western Embajadores. Info January 2007

After looking around the Backpackers Hostels in Miraflores, I took a bus to check this place in Barranco, another area southernmost. This hostel happened to be in an excellent location, by the seaside, near a busy square with many v¡bars and restaurants, but really quiet and peaceful at night. They have only dormitories, with ensuite WC and hot shower (shared for the 8 persons on the dormitory), and a dining room & kitchen.
They offer transfer to/from the airport for a little less than a normal taxi (10 USD instead of 14) Dormitory bed: 10 USD Leave a Comment Theme: HostelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: MalecÃ3n Castilla 260 Barranco, , Lima, LimaPhone: (51-1)2473709Website: http://www.backpackers.com/directory/bed_&_breakfasts/B/directory_popup.html?id=3224 Other Contact: backpackersinnperu@hotmail.com

We really had a nice stay in this hotel. The service was outstanding, and the rooms had all the facilities needed like bathroom with shower, TV, telephone, air condition and minibar. In addition there was an office area beside the reception where you freely could access internet, lend a desk, a telephone (Not free phonecalls :), and all others needed for officework. The reception is open 24/7, and they also have a same day laundry service. A hotel taxi is also available, and even though it is more expensive than a "street-taxi", we often used it, especially to/from the airport. Just call the reception and tell your arrival at the airport, and he will be there waiting for you. The restaurant and bar is located on the top floor with a great View over Lima. The food is good and also here the service is high. For a small extra charge (Approx 5 soles) they bring the food down to the rooms. The hotel is located in San Isidro. This is a good area in Lima, hosting many embassies, international companies and huge modern shopping centers. The Rates of the hotel are: - USD 55 each night for a single room - USD 65 each night for a double room You can try to bargain on the rates, but do before you book ;-)

This hotel stands out above the others along the stretch of Malecon de la Reserva, and this impressiveness is only the beginning. We stayed for 4 nights on the 22nd floor. Our room was in the corner, on one side of our window was a view of the beach, and the other was a view of the sprawling city. When we returned from Cuzco, we stayed for another night on the 14th floor in the front of the building. The view was breathtaking. The room was excellent. Very comfortable bed, air conditioning, excellent bathroom with slippers and bath robes, filter coffee machine, safe, and a very big selection of room service (including Pizza Hut deliveries). Although we never had to use this! There is a swimming pool, tennis court, gym, sauna and health centre. I had a one-hour massage for US$40. Breakfast. I think this was the most unforgettable experience. The restaurant is located in the front of the hotel, and had an excellent view to the park across the road. In the mornings, there is live music, either a solo harpist or pianist. The breakfast buffet included the standard cereals, jams etc, with freshly baked bread (croissant, brioche, toast, cakes etc). There is a wide selection of eggs and fillings, freshly made; pancakes and waffles, with a range of toppings. There was also cooked food, such as beef with roquefort sauce, sauteed mushrooms, various sausages and bacons. There is also local cooked breakfast involving a roll with roast pork, fried sweet potato, topped with a tomato and onion sauce. The local "sausage" is a very nice marinated pork mince, fried with scrambled eggs. Clearly, we didn't need lunch after our breakfast here. We had dinner in the restaurant too. We asked for something that wasn't on the menu but recommended in the guidebooks. The chef made them and they were delicious. Again, the service was excellent, and the waiters appeared and disappeared at the right times, leaving us to enjoy our dinner and each other's company.
I think the most outstanding characteristic of this hotel is the service provided. Even at odd hours they looked spectacular with their perfect hair and makeup, and were extremely helpful and attentive. I would definitely recommend the concierge service, especially for airport drop-offs and pick-ups as they are able to meet you at the baggage reclaim, and help you through the crowd of people (tourist touts, taxi touts and the like). This service is obviously more expensive than what you would pay if you if went to the taxi rank, but at US$23 I thought it was very good value. If I could give a higher rating for the service we had, I would. By the way, even though the comparative price I gave below is "most expensive", we got a really good deal on www.hotelsperu.com. The rack rate for our room was US$270, not including taxes, service, or breakfast (US$20 per person). We paid US$120 with everything inclusive.
