connection time to Cusco

by dreamroamer

I will fly from Miami to Lima on May 20. My flight will arrive around 4:10am. I'm thinking about booking a flight(TACA) to Cusco departing at 5:40am. Can anyone tell me the connection time is enough for passing through custom & check-in? TACA doesn't have a lot of daily flights from Lima to Cusco. If I miss this one, I can be in trouble.

Thanks!!

Yikes...this is really tight. Flights change all the time and there's always the risk of unexpected delays...maybe try to find a later flight? another airline maybe? Good luck, Norman :)

thanks jumpingnorman!

I was thinking since it's 4am, the airport shouldn't be that busy and everything would be moving fast. But you are right, less than 2 hours connection time is a bit risky, I'd better look at alternatives.

...OR check Star Peru. It appears they have 3 morning flights to Cusco from Lima on May 20th: 6:00, 7:30 and 9:45.

Good Luck & Enjoy Beautiful Peru!

Travel Tips for Lima

Art Deco in Barranco

by SirRichard

I booked a hostel in the southern district of Barranco, so had some time to wander around this beautiful quarter. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, it soon became favourite place for painters and other artists. You can find here delicious examples of art deco architecture, as this public library (Biblioteca) in the Municipal Park.

See what life is really like for Lima residents!

by Avenge

If you're up for an adventure. Take a few friends with you and stroll through the Agustino district. Definitely recommend taking some locals with you and go in a group as it is a poor neighborhood and you've got the usual crime things to worry about there. However, if you do go, you'll get a picture of what life is really like for the real residents of Lima. "Houses" are made from any material available and stand on the hills surrounding Lima ready to crumble or be washed away. If you are brave enough to visit, you'll get an overhead view of the city (if the clouds/smog are not to thick).

If it already exists, I love...

by j2po

If it already exists, I love the 'Sargento Pimienta'
Its a bar and dancing place that on time to time gives thematic parties (Salsa, Disco, 80's, etc) and the people there is the best... no need of fashion, good prices and funny people (everybody is crazy, so, who cares!!!) Go naked if you want to... but I wouldn't recomend it!

the best seat in Larcomar

by jglsongs about Vivaldino

An excellent restaurant overlooking the ocean high atop the Costa Verde in the LarcoMar center. This isn't a cheap restaurant, however it's worth it. How anyone could not resist ordering ceviche with the ocean below you is a mystery to me. Also, this is one of those restaurants in Peru where you can order a salad and fresh vegetables without worrying about microbes or parasites.

Chifa in Chinatown

by hartti about Ton Kin Sen

Restaurant is at a good place just on the walking street of Chinatown. You simple step in, with help of the beautiful China-dressed girl. I had ordinary menu, with soup, saufa with "pollo/carne con verdunas", and Inca Cola. For other drink you have to pay extra.
