a nice moderate hotel

Our trek to Peru was not extravagant. We were there to have an adventure. Instead of the high dollar hotels, we opted for lower priced moderate accommodations. Our first night in Peru was at the Faraona Hotel in Lima. I was very pleased. It was not fancy but it was clean. The bathrooms were clean and we had hot water. There is a small restaurant that has a basic breakfast buffet and a tiny little bar where you could get a Pisco Sour. Overall I was extremely pleased with this little jewel.

Unique Quality: Right outside the hotel is Avenida La Paz. This street is lined with antique and jewelry stores. Two blocks behind the hotel is the Mercado Artesenal where you can find all kinds of tourist goods and a whole row of stores that sells paintings. The Parque Central is also 2 blocks away and an area known as Pizza Street that is lined with all kinds of restaurants that have a very busy nightlife.
