This is mostly a hostel type accommodation, but there is also an option for private rooms with bathrooms in the garden area as well as inside this huge home (mini-mansion) that gives it a typical "Bed and Breakfast" feel like in the US or Europe. The services are warm and personalized. Robert is a good host, Maria a great cook and full of warmth, and Lea is wonderful and all-embracing. The driver is ever patient and ensures your safety while in his taxi.
Overall, I like to stay in places like these because it gives your stay a "homey" feel unlike your regular impersonal hotel experience. The only disadvantage is that it can get quite cold in the room (I stayed in "Alpamayo") and I do not remember having hot water in the shower, therefore I always took a cold shower in the 2 days that I stayed here.
It's a really nice, old, and grand looking home in the mansion-lined area of Miraflores. It is close to the Indian Market and about a 10 minute taxi ride to Larcomar by the ocean. The staff, management, and owners are warm and welcoming. Home Peru is located in a great area. It is extremely close (walking distance) to downtown miraflores with tons to do. My aunt and cousin stayed here (per my reccomendation) and loved it. The owner is fantastic! Plus, it is just one-two blocks away from South American Explorers lima office, which has a TON of info on travel in Peru.
