Impossible to sleep

I barely slept a wink here. The windows properly close (not even nearly) and all the noise from outside came in. Traffic, noise from the nearby conference and venue centre, someone was having a party in an adjoining building. Also the curtains seem to be designed to only half close with plaster or something inserted into the rail to prevent them closing. Thus outside hours of sun down there is light in the room not helping.

It also doesn't help that the bed is the hardest I can remember ever trying to sleep on. I could only stay in one position for 20 minutes without aching in whatever part of my body was pressed against the mattress. The room was a twin so I tried the 2nd bed - no difference.

A disaster of a place to try to sleep.

nice hotel in miraflores

i thought this was a lovely hotel. very clean and well maintained. very nice rooms as well with a lovely view of the courtyard.

the only thing i didn't like was the breakfast. we got coffee, juice and toast. that was it.

i still would recommend this hotel because it is in a good location and a beautiful property.

by alza about La Castellana Hotel

I just visited this place cuz it looked so nice. For something nicer than a hostel, I would stay there if I returned to Lima. There's a nice indoor courtyard where meals from the hotel restaurant are served. Breakfast is included in the price.

by iwys about La Castellana Hotel

La Castellana Hotel is a nice, secure, three-star hotel in the cente of the Miraflores district. Rooms have ac, cable TV and safes. You can eat breakfast in the attractive courtyard. There are 44 rooms, but the hotel is extremely popular so you need to make a reservation.

I would recommend La Castellana to those looking for a comfortable, mid-price hotel in a safe part of Lima. The staff are friendly and helpful too. Although it is in a quiet area, there is a major commercial street, with shops, restaurants and a big supermarket just a few minutes' walk away.

Doubles are $50-60 and singles $38-48, including continental breakfast. Shop around online to see who is offering the best rates.
