Fabulous Location
by Openseas about Miraflores Park Hotel
This hotel overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is an excellent location in Miraflores within walking distance to Larcomer shopping centre and all major attractions in Miraflores. This is the perfect place to stay if your budget allows it whilst in Lima. There are also other hotels within this district which offer good honest rooms. We opted for a security apartment across the road from the beach and found it to be fabulous.

Miraflores Park Hotel, Lima (tel. 01/242-3000): Perhaps the top business traveler's hotel in Lima, this oasis of refinement and luxury is small enough to cater to your every whim. The Park Hotel is the height of style, with handsome, spacious rooms; huge bathrooms; and an elegant restaurant and bar. There's a small pool and a gym/sauna on the top floor, overlooking the malecón, parks, and the coastline.
Country Club Lima Hotel, Lima (tel. 01/611-9000): A recently revived hacienda-style hotel from the 1920s, this grand estate is luxurious and has plenty of character, but it remains a relaxed place that's good for families. Given its high standards, it's not a bad deal, either. At this good retreat from the stress of modern Lima, the country club aspect isn't neglected: Golf and tennis are both available.
Hotel Libertador, Cusco (tel. 084/231-961): This distinguished luxury hotel in Cusco is just a couple of blocks from the Plaza de Armas and right across the street from the Inca Temple of the Sun. Elegant and traditional, with excellent service, the Libertador inhabits a colonial house where Francisco Pizarro once lived. Full of art and antiques, the rooms are refined with colonial touches.
Hotel Monasterio, Cusco (tel. 084/241-777): Extraordinarily carved out of a 16th-century monastery, itself built over the foundations of an Inca palace, this Orient-Express hotel is the most dignified and historic place to stay in Peru. With its own gilded chapel and 18th-century Cusco School art collection, it's an attraction in its own right. Rooms are gracefully decorated with colonial touches, particularly the rooms off the serene first courtyard.
Thank you, Marriott Rewards!

This is one of the newest hotels in Lima, and has every amenity that you can imagine. Normally I would not have stayed here, but I had enough reward points with Marriott:-). The hotel is located in Miraflores (most tourists tend to stay in Miraflores) and it overlooks the pacific ocean and a very upscale shopping plaza called Larcomar.
There is a pretty good gym for a hotel (they even had a spin room), plus there is a pool and tennis court.
The hotel has a taxi desk at the airport. It is kinda pricey (US $33), but safe and comfortable. Not knowing anything about Lima, and travelling solo, I decided to go with this option.
Overall the hotel is very very comfortable and luxurious, if you want to reward yourself, this is the place to stay! Great views of the pacific ocean, plus see the occasional hang glider going past the people sipping their coffee at the Larcomar shopping plaza.
Great bar..be sure to have a Pisco sour, Peru's signature cocktail made with Pisco (peruvian grape brandy), lime juice, egg whites, syrup, bitters.

Great value for the money. Not in a walking district like miraflores but not dangerous either.
I would return again.
I would like to visit the places to eat again and the places I did not get to eat at and to visit Machu Picchu again. For around $ 40 a night its a deal. Queen size bed with a small fridge a small hot tub with jets combo shower and free breakfast. I never ate at the breakfast .
24 hour front desk person and a doorman.
Beautiful Hotel in Lima

We stayed at the Miraflores Park hotel because they are run by Orient Express. This hotel definitely delivered on luxury. The greeting at the hotel for check in was very professional.
The rooms were spacious with fantastic ocean views. Rooms on the 9th floor have a bathtub, shower with shower head as big as a dinner plate, and a dry heat sauna. There was candy and fruit provided in our room.
Breakfast the following morning was on the 11th floor which had spectacular views of the ocean. I wish we would have stayed in this amazing hotel for more than one night!
Absolutely Fantabulous!!!

We have just returned from a week at the Miraflores Park Hotel. The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. The rooms were well appointed. The staff was absolutely magnificent. The meals in the Observatory Terrace overlooking the ocean and the city was excellent. This is definitely a first rate, 5 star hotel! I would stay here again and again and I am terribly picky about where I lay my head and a stickler for good customer service. EVERYONE was friendly, helpful, and showed genuine concern that our stay was above average. They succeeded. A must experience.
Incredible

An exquisite property which is simply incredible. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The shower is spectacular...one of the best I have ever experienced. Beautiful rooms, gracious staff, and a safe neighborhood complete the picture. When you walk into this hotel, you will know that you have found a special place.
We booked the hotel car service to meet us at the airport. Take my advice and do the same for yourself. The driver was professional, timely, and courteous. After walking out of customs and seeing our driver, my stress level dropped immediately.
Being a luxury traveler, I am difficult to please...this hotel exceeded my expectations. This hotel will receive my vote for the #1 South American hotel this year.

Lima/Peru Beaches
by TammyCarlos
Are there any beaches that a family and/or US tourist would feel comfortable at? (i.e. none of the following: thongs, topless, parties, drugs, alcohol on the beach).
Thanks!!!!
