Hi

If you don't have a pickup arrangement, take "taxi green" @ Lima airport. It's not recommended to take independent taxis at airport. The fare should be around $20.00 from Lima airport to Miraflores. From Miraflores to Downtown Lima around $6.00 for street taxis (be sure that the number plate of the taxi it's written on the car's door). You can also ask the doorman of your hotel to help you getting the taxi.

Travel Tips for Lima

The most important thing to do...

by Luis_Alberto

The most important thing to do in this city is to enjoy life to the fullest. Lima has some of the nicest and friendliest people in the world, and they truly enjoy meeting other souls regardless where they came from. It is a wonderful trip down memory lane, to visit the old colonial section of the city during the day, and finish the day with a delicious meal and drinks at 'Larcomar' in the Miraflores district of city. The food and the people, are two of the best attributes of this noble city. Lima has the best and the worst that the world has to offer. One foreign ambassador to the city best described this, 'Lima is like being in New York, Paris or Cairo all at once'.

LUNAHUANA

by Sininen

I took a bus to a small seaside fishing village of Lunahuana just to get away from the hustle and bustle in Lima. I don't think that there were any other tourists there then and I loved my short stay. I took walks in the beach, had deliciosu meal of fish and rice in the local restaurant and stayed in a quiet family owned hotel. Unfortunately I have not written the name of it in my diary...

Bordello's

by K-nalla about Las Cucardas

One of the few respectable bordellos left in Lima from the memorial times. Situated near downtown Lima, it offers a straight forward approach to what men that come to these places want. There are about 40 girls on a regular night and the conditions are decent. Safe and realtively comfortable. Entrance fee 25 soles, full service, that depends on your needs but aprox 40 soles. Long corridors have women at the many doors, each one of them with a different story &/or approach to what you need: charapas, foreigners (plenty of Colombians), norteñas. Go for a walk and enjoy the show that every so often delights the public from the stage area.
Talk about memorias de putas tristes... no dress code

Good Ceviche

by Boca24 about Segundo Muelle

Small lunch only place across the street from the Parque del Amor. Has a good view of the sea, seems to be a stop for tour groups as well. You have to order the Ceviche. This traditional peruvian dish of raw fish marinated in either lime or lemon juice and chile peppers. Didn't think I was going to like it at first but I loved it.

La mejor Raspadilla

by K-nalla about Garibay

Wish I could describe it, but I dont know if its the ice or the juices but everyday during the summer, hundreds of limeños flock from every other way, some as far as hours away, to try Garibay's icees (sorry, I dont know a better translation for raspadilla). Only 4 flavors but no more is necessary, just gve it a try and you'll see.... Partial to the coconut/strawberry combination
