Puerto Bermùdez Hotels

HUMBOLDT HOUSE

Once in Puerto Bermudez there are a pair of hotels, but I would recomend Humboldt House. Jesus Lopez de Dicastillo, his owner, is one of those persons who are in this narrow line between madness and geniality. He traveled for about 17 years, worked for the basque TV and wrote some books. After that, 9 years ago, decided to build his own hostal in this forgotten place.
I'll never forgot his speeches under the light of the candels.
The hostel is located next to the river, is quiet, clean and with a gorgeous garden.
The prices (2007) are also OK:
- Bedroom: 13 soles (3,5€)
- Breakfasta: 6 soles (1,5€)
- Dinner: 7 soles (2€)
Jesus organices guided tour to the jungle and to the comunities for a good price. For deeper information have a look in the 'Things to to Tips'.

PS: If you are not keen on insects or animals take next pick-up to La Merced!!!
