Ninos Hotel #2: Hotel in Cusco

Gringobills: Aguas Calientes

by Chicha15

Aguas Calientes is the small town you will get to before you go to the main ruins. Everyone comes in via train- takes about 1:45 to get there and it takes about 1:30 to ge to the train station on a bus. Finding a comfortable hotel is a must! Aguas Calientes is very, very small! since its the only town near the main site, they can pretty much charge what they want for just about anything! i found this hotel to be on the cheaper side and in a great location, steps from the main plaza and just a walk over the bridge from the train station.

My bathroom and bedroom were split by a curtain... interesting set up but it works. Great shower! but my shower had windows that looked out to the foyer.... white curtains spare you, but you gotta wonder what others can see.. weird, but the shower is great! with heat lamps above you to keep you warm! staff is friendly and helpful and a hairless peruvian dog is on hand to greet you!

Casa San Blas: Cusco- Good family option

by gillg6151

Family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (12 &15 at the time), we booked this hotel for 4 nights. We booked a suite with 2 dbl beds and a sofa sleeper. the bedroom section is upstairs loft style and the sofa bed downsatirs with kitchen table and desk. The hotel itself was good for our purposes, we were keen to have the one space as opposed to 2 rooms and it had a small kitchenette. As others have said the decor is pretty dated but is fine, it is clean and the sheets/pillows/towels fresh and clean. The amenities were nice. The kitchenette is very sparsely equipped- 2 cups, 2 glasses, a bit of cutlery, not too much else. We didnt really need to cook though, it was more for coffee, etc. You could probably request more dishes but we didn't.
Our room was on the 2nd floor and opened into a small courtyard/walkway. The view was really great over the city. It was also nice to sit out there and enjoy a coffee. The breakfast was good once you worked out the system, you could order hot food included in the price, or there were plenty of juices, cereals and fruits. Toast and rolls were also available. The servers were very friendly.
Location wise it was great as it is only 2 1/2 blocks from the square. The streets are charming and there are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. The room service menu was pretty good, we ordered from it twice and enjoyed our food. Ther is restaurant attached to teh hotel also.
Other good things of note
- small library exchange- thanks!!! Saved me from being bookless for our next leg of the journey.
- free internet!!!!! (saved our kids when they really wanted some non-culture time! One used the provided desk top and the other the lap top.
Annoying thing- not being supplied with bottled water in the room on arrival. Every other hotel I have stayed in provides a bottle or 2 FOC. Dont know if it was a housekeeping thing but the front desk wanted to charge for it.
I would reccomend this place, as I said it worked well for us.

One quirky little thing I liked was that it neighboured a music school and was pretty interesting to listen to the students practising.

Casa Andina Private Collection Miraflores: A great choice in Lima

by aztraveler2

A great hotel in a good location. Most sites are within walking distance. Parque Kennedy, the Miraflores coast, shopping and many good restaurants are a 10 - 15 minute walk.
The staff are attentive, the rooms clean and comfortable and the included breakfast is great.
The hotel is pricier than other accommodations but I felt is was worth it for my first trip to Lima.

Hotel has a pool and exercise facility. The hotel offers a taxi service which is safe and reliable but more expensive than a regular taxi service.
There is a small gift shop, a good cafe and an H.Stern Jewelers in the lobby.

Casa Andina Private Collection Valle Sagrado: A Sacred Valley delight! :-)

by sheherezad

Lovely hotel where I was put up for just one night :( by my Cusco-Machu Picchu tour operator. Simply gorgeous views of the Andes and delicious food at the restaurant. The executive chef is 25 years old and whips up the most amazing dishes! :-) The hotel has its own observatory but I was too tired to check it out after arriving from an all day trip in Valle Sagrado! The 'Sacred Spa' was very nice with great service and a huge jacuzzi!

Great views of the Andes from each room, very comfortable rooms with Andean amenities, great food, good service!

Hotel Monasterio: Cusco's premier spot

by motardman

Awesome hotel with excellent amenities. The restaurant is great, staff very helpful and location is superb. I highly recommend this hotel, one of the best in the world...

The hotel is an old monastary, and it has a very mid-evil feel to it.

Exotic flora, orchid walks, bird watches, private patios surrounded with birds of paradise!

Miraflores: Lima's Best Hotel

by Mr.Wayne

Our first night in Lima was at the Miraflores Hotel. The next day was the annual meeting of the leaders of South America. To say security was tight is an under statement.

The great thing was the hotel staff treated us just like we were the leader of a country.

The service was the best of any Hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere.

I highly recommend this hotel. It is very pricey, but well worth it!

Outstanding service
Incredible view of the Pacific Ocean

Pisac Inn: The best hidden secret

by celsomollo

I had the most wonderful time at the Pisac Inn.
We stayed there for only two nights but I will always remember that place.
One of the owner, Fielding made we all fell at home and she was always there to help and make our stay wonderful.

The great staff, cozy accomodations and nice food along with very warm atmosphere make this place a attraction on itself. The food is great, breakfast is fantastic and the it is located right at the main plaza where the market happens on weekends.
