El Viajero Hostel Suites Colonia

A clean, quiet hostel which mirrors Colona itself

I stayed for two nights in Colonia - longer than anyone suggested - and had a great time. I live in Buenos Aires at the moment and was in search for some much needed quiet and relaxation, both of which were found in Colonia with many thanks to this hostel.

The staff were extremely helpful, and when my brain didn't feel like working to translate from English to Spanish anymore, the bilingual employees where more than happy to help me out with that.

The bathroom and shower were connected to my room which is always a plus when on the road - it adds a bit of a homey feeling - if that's something you're looking for. I stayed in a co-ed room for 8, which to some might seem a bit daunting. The room turned out to be huge and that may have contributed to everyone being extremely friendly, and definitely made everyone feel as if they had their own space.

Unique Quality: A colorful common room with a TV and DVD's is connected to the kitchen where you are provided with the necessary tools to cook up a dinner of your own if you feel like saving some pesos while on the road.

The rooms weren't eat-of-the-floor clean, but then again my room at home isn't either. It's definitely a well-kept hostel with very friendly staff.

While I was there I met a man in his 60's traveling around the world - he was having a great time and all the younger travelers got along very well with him. For this reason I'd say people of all ages could stay here and have a great time, no question.

There's also 24 hour internet service in case you need to make reservations for a hostel in your next destination.

I had a great time and I'd recommend it to any traveler anytime.
