    It's four or five stars, and just what was needed near the end of the trip. Would definitely recommend anyone who could afford it (between USD 45-55) staying here. Incredibly competent staff.

    Great "business" hotel with free internet. Again, the location can't be beat.

    Small, cozy feel. Right Price! Nice staff, clean rooms. Internet downstairs.. Has a Bar, restaurant, and an ATM in outside lobby area.

    Modern feel, with a local sensibility. My Room had a view of the Sea as well as a soccer field which was active virtually 24/7! Very Nice!

    Not in the city proper... it was more to the side.. right on the sea. I liked the location, frankly, better than being in the town proper. Booked it on line with no problems. Got it for $25 a nite. I think it included breakfast...

    It is brand new (one year old?!) and so it was VERY clean and in great shape. Nice folks work there, too. Helpful!

    I've never actually gone to a hotel in Montevideo since i always stay at my relatives houses when I'm there. But i do know that the Sheraton Hotel and the Radisson hotel are some of the best ones to stay in. The Melia Hotel is also a smart option.
    The Sheraton is located in Punta Carretas, a nice neighbourhood and it is also connected to the Punta Carretas Shopping Center. It's four blocks away from the beach.
    The Radisson is located in the heart of the city (Plaza Independencia).
    The Melia is also in Punta Carretas next to the golf.
    A Marriot hotel will be opening soon in Carrasco.

    I just had to show you how CLEAN the bathroom is. For $25 a nite, I was impressed!!!!

    Stayed at the Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel. It's probably the best hotel in town. It's got good service and the English speaking level is very high. However there is a lot of smoke (from cigarettes) in the lobby and on the first few floors. Unless you get non-smoking rooms, you could be in for a lot of discomfort. When I checked in they had no non-smoking rooms left... so (psst here is a secret) I told them I had very strong allergy to cigarette smoking and I could die from it and I had to get a non-smoking room. After much wrangling (I showed them my Radisson Gold Rewards card and told them I was a frequent customer of their chain - Six Continent Hotels chain) they put me in a non-smoking suite! The picture is the smoking room they put me into (before I realized it was a smoking room and started complaining about allergies...)
    Have no idea. Work paid for it. I think it was $100night but that was a very special deal only for the conference attendees.

    A small casino downstairs. Slot machines. Black Jack. Vice. People smoked incessantly.
