Great hotel for the Price

I stayed here recently and also highly recommend this hotel for the price. The room and bath were good size; in fact the bed was great. The free breakfast held a wide variety of choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Evana who worked evenings and answered numerous questions. For dinner she recommended a resturant 2 or 3 blocks away on the same street. My steak there beat any I had in Buenos Aires. The 3 computers in the lobby did leave a little to be desired but at least they had them for free use. I would stay there again!

Fantastic place for a nice price!!

I moved here from my haunted 6th floor penthouse at Hotel Palacio in the Ciudad Viejo. I did miss the vintage charm of Palacio´s elevator and terrace view, but Embajador´s room was soooooooooooo much nicer and bigger for only $25 more. Well, that´s almost double the room rate. In 2009 I paid $31 a night for the Palacio penthouse (w/o bfast) and $56 a night at The Embajador.

The lobby at The Embajador is very inviting. The breakfast is very nice. A continental affair (bread, cheese, ham, croissants), but with a nice selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt, and great coffee. Tea is also available. The breakfast room faces a glass wall along a side street. Offices of El Pais (the Spanish newspaper) are across this street.

The rooms are very comfortable. It´s a four star hotel, but a teeny bit tired for one in say the US. That said, you´d never get a place like this for $56 a night!! I loved the solid moderne wood doors and cabinets. I felt super comfortable in my room.

I left the Hotel Palacio for this place. That said, the Hotel Palacio is a special experience if you are looking for vintage charm, travelling with someone and not staying on a Saturday night. The shops and cafes are all closed on Sunday morning. You want a place that serves breakfast.

Unique Quality: Rooms have a sofa and table in addition to the bed. You can do cartwheels in the rooms. Breakfast is very good. Helpful staff all around - in the lobby, at breakfast.
