Green city
by Bjorgvin
Montevideo is a 'green' city and proud of it. It also has two lovely parks, the Prado and Parque Rodó. The city's clean white sand beaches are renown, and Monteviedo can therefore be called a resort town like the famous Punta del Este beach resort east of the city.

Have you got a dog?
by andal13
Everybody MUST HAVE at least one dog in Montevideo (or a cat, a bird, a turtle, a hamster, some fishes, whatever); people who do not have a pet MUST have a good reason for that: "I live in a smal apartment" (valid only for dogs); "I work all day long; I cannot take care of a pet". If you do not have got a pet, you will be off a lot of conversations!
Of course, as I am a responsible and conscious citizen so I have a beautiful dog (Sasha) and a fats turtle (Manuelita).
Countryside

Uruguay's countryside is very bucolic. Once you leave Montevideo, whether you head west towards Colonia or East to Punta de Este, you will see the idyllic countryside of Uruguay, full with meadows, horses, cows. and cute little houses
