Everything I Need For $26 A Night
This hotel was found for us by the fabulously helpful people at the tourism booth at the bus station. It has a good location a few blocks from Av 18 de Julio and not too far from Plaza Independencia. It's walkable to Ciudad Vieja. Restaurants within a few blocks and a grocery store next door.
The front desk is manned 24 hours a day. Juan is there all day, 6 days a week. He spoke excellent English, was very helpful and was just an all round nice guy.
Our double room was very quiet, had cable TV, AC, overhead fan, a small refrigerator and a breakfast that was better than most.
Our private bath was a decent size, had plenty of hot water and a good sized wash basin. It was a nice room and very clean.
Only complaint was a very uncomfortable bed. A real killer! I'm sure we could have changed rooms, but for some unfathomable reason 'the wife' didn't want to. Oh well!!
