Apart Hotell in Pocitos

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 6, 2004

The Punta Trouville Apart Hotel is a relatively new highrise (10 stories) on Calle Francisco Vidal a block away from the Ramblas in Pocitos. Each room has a small kitchen (microwave, fridge, hotplate, cooking utensils etc) and bath. Rates are very reasonable and negotiable for longer stays. I stayed there a month with my wife while on a Fulbright Fellowship and we had two rooms that turned into a suite (which meant two baths, two kitchens, two TVs for $800 for the month) Staff is multilingual and very helpful. The Pocitos area is a hip, beach area of Montevideo, near parks and many activities, and the Ramblas (the long walking street along the river) is just one block away (as is the Pocitos Beach). Lots of cool restaurants and shops nearby and easy bus access to El Centro (about 3 miles away)

Unique Quality: Small gym on the top floor (cool view) and a highspeed internet set up with two computers on the second floor. If you have a car (I didn't) there is parking below the hotel.
