El Diablo Tranquilo: Amazing Hostel in Punta del Diablo!

I would most definitely recommend this hostel to anyone thinking about travelling to Punta del Diablo. The hostel had two locations- the original hostel that is a few blocks from the beach and the new hostel that is located above their beachfront restaurant and bar. Both the dorms and the private suites are really nice. The suites come with incredible views, private terraces, fireplaces, ensuite bathrooms, and really comfy beds. The staff will also bring you breakfast in bed, when staying in the suites. Their continental breakfast is a step from your average "breakfast included" set-up, with freshly baked bread and fresh fruit, and REAL freshly brewed coffee. The place seems to have an endless supply of hot water and all the facilities (kitchen, comunal bathrooms etc) were kept extra clean ( I think they have a 24 hour cleaning crew). The restraunt and bar offers delicious food and drinks served in a charming setting, with candlelit tables surrounding an open fire. The bilingual staff is also really friendly and helpful. The town itself is also a must-see, with beautiful beaches and colorful buildings. Great for surfing and/or long walks full of aimless wandering. I think this town and this specific hostel would appeal to people of all ages, whether you are seeking a relaxing and quiet getaway or a fun and lively party, there is something for everyone at El Diablo Tranquilo!

The hostel offers everything you could want from a hostel and more. It is right on the beach and has unbeatable views of the beach/ocean.You can rent surf boards, wetsuits and boogy boards. They offer daily horseback riding tours to the national park. There is wifi throughout the entire building and free internet on their really nice computers. Oh and they also have a big screen television with a movie library with hundreds of movies to chose from.

La Posada: right on the beach

It has electricty, it includes breakfast, and it's run by a nice couple with one half from Spain and the other from Uruguay. Laid back. Hot showers. Perfecto location. Highly recommended.

Beach front rooms.

POSADA DE LOS CORVINOS aka Casa Rosada: Chill place at Cabo Polonio

They have a dorm as well as a couple of double rooms.

Wood heat, gas stove, running cold water, shared bath, no electricity but lots of candles. You can use sun heated water to bathe, or if there´s no sun, you can heat water on the stove.

You can use the kitchen and their utensils for cooking.

The couple that runs this place is great.

They have a big selection of books in Spanish and a handfull in other languages.

They are there year-round.

$UR200/person/night

Inside the Parque Nacional Santa Teresa (Santa Teresa National Park) there are several campgrounds, with all kind of facilities (supermarket, medical assistence, barbecues, telephones, hot water showers, electricity).
The Park has several beaches, a beautiful forest, the historical fortress, a lagoon, some hills, a small zoo, a green house, a cold frame... so you just need your tent!
