Moncho's hut: the best choice... the only choice!

On La Tortuga there's a fisherman named Moncho who has a simple hut where visitors can stay overnight: it's basic but it's the only place to stay on the island. Officially he works with a travel agency from Puerto la Cruz, which pays him next to nothing and - worst of all - doesn't send him any people (and sometimes even forget to send him food and water). It's not really clear why they keep him there - but he's surely a happy man: he's got a beautiful place all to himself and some friends set him up with solar panels, so that he can have electricity and listen to the radio.

Although the hut is very simple, all beds have a mosquito net and are not uncomfortable. Sheets are not provided, so you have to bring them yourself. There's also no toilet but, strangely enough, a shower. Whatever the accommodation may lack, Moncho's friendliness makes up for it all. There's no fixed price, he'll accept anything you'll give him.
