Why should you come to caracas?

Why should you come to caracas? Short answer, you shouldn't.
My first trip to south america. I came to Caracas for 6 months for work and left after 3 months. I had my watch stolen and was robbed by the police. The only tourist attraction here is the airport because you can leave the country. I've been to some third rate countries Indonesia, Africa, India, Bangladesh to mention a few and can say without a doubt Caracas is the worst place I have ever been to.
The place is full of crime and corrupt police. If your reading this and your in caracas, then good, it means your still alive, now hop on the next plane out of the place. Leaving.

Go Shopping....Caracas is famous for it's Shopping. There are lots of sites to see but the thing I remember the most was shopping. As a kid my parents would go crazy over the prices of things. The Cabel cars were pretty cool too....

visit El Hatillo, a very old town preserved the same way it was 200 years ago. There are many good restaurants serving typical venezuelan food and nice stores selling souvenirs.
Parque Central, La Catedral, Simon Bolivar's house, Parque del Este (East Park) and many other places will be posted in my travelogue... check those soon for your reference.

Instead of carrying your passport, leave it at the hotel and carry the photocopy of your passport. In all countries its more or less advisable also carry the address card of your hotel, so in case you do have distant access of your passport.
A GREEN SHELTER CLOSE TO CARACAS DOWNTOWN
by RafaelTheSecond
Los Caobos is a very interesting green area close to the city centre of Caracas. I like to walk in the mornings (this is the safes ttime to enjoy the park...do not go there in the end of the afternoon..very dangerous), lots of trees and with native species of Venezuela. it is also a great space for you to see exotic birds and many different kind of parrots. Nice people like walking in the boulevards for a pleasant walk and being with the Nature.
It is the entrance of two very nice museums..the BIODIVERSTY MUSEUM and the FINE ARTS MUSEUM!!!
Beautiful place and close to many landmarks of Caracas, the famous theater Tereza Careño, and the Mesquita and the nice and central neighborhood of Candelaria!
the subway station nearby is Bellas Artes.
