Hotel Colón: Recommendable

Clean hotel with friendly staff. Rooms have cable TV and quiet aircon. Paid 80000 Bs./double in Jan. 08, which is acceptable for Puerto La Cruz.

Hotel Europa: Basic

Basic, loud aircon, the only window was a 40x40 cm hole in the "bathroom". A simple hole. When you come home at night, you have to shout around til someone notices you and opens the door. Therefore, 65000 Bs./double (Jan. 08) is i.m.o. a bit overpriced but nevertheless one of the cheapest options in Puerto La Cruz.

Pippis(?): Hotel Garbage

I arrived at midnight at the bus station and had a tough time finding a hotel. Lots of people sleeping in the street and on benches and the taxi drivers were really unhelpful --all giving me different information. Basically you have to walk a couple blocks from the station to find something. I had a very basic room for 20 B ($9). Much nicer in the daytime....

Unique Quality: Shower that squirted like a hose. Dirty sheets.
