Hacienda EL PORTETE: colonial-era atmosphere
Has a unique quality that comes from the personal care and attention of the owner's. The breakfast it is included, Venezuelan type
We went with no reservation and we were lucky we find a room (some one last minut cancel). Do your reservation if is a long weekend or festivities.
It is a 300+ year old cocoa plantation restored to its colonial-era atmosphere, with all the comforts of a small resort. It is casual elegance at its best, including; 24 rooms, 3 suites, air conditioning, swimming pool, ocean cabana, excellent food, a unique children's play area with pool, conference room, a relaxed atmosphere and a jovial english-speaking staff that will have you planning your next visit before you leav

Maison Xuchytlan- Puerto Colombia: With ur private garden & jacuzzi!!
We read about it and couldn't believe it, so we booked it. It's as described. Has two different room options. The one we took was 400blv (55 euros). It does have it's own little PRIVATE garden with plants and everything AND a big-working and with hot water outdoor jacuzzi!! What a perfect way to end ur beach/adventure day!
The room by itself isn't special at all, but it's clean and spacious. Another thing i liked was that the shower didn't have any walls on its back--it was facing the garden, which was funny. U could just walk out of it...
The breakfast was a joke, but the owners smile and attitude forced us to forget about it. Oh yeah, the owners are very special people. Prepare yourself to be hugged like 5 times/day :)
Totally recommend it if u have spare money left + Puerto Colombia is a great place to relax!!

Hotel Posada La Bokaina: I just love Posada La Bokaina
Me and my fiancé stayed 2 weeks at La Bokaina and we had a fantastic time there. The hotel has a magnificent big garden and is truly an oasis of tranquility in Choroni. Even though it is located in a calm place it is still only 150 yards to walk into the town with its beach Playa grande. The rooms were really nice too with AC, private bathrooms and great beds. Every room has a hammock just outside of it and it is a great laying there reading a book or so. Breakfast are included and they were really tasty with quite a lot of food (traditional such arepas for instance). It was also possible to eat dinner at the hotel if you asked in advance. When we where there they just installed Wireless broadband. Choroni is a nice place and we liked much more than Isla Margarita since it is smaller and more charming. The hotel also has a small pool. It could be bigger but was nice to relax in whenever a bit overheated. Playa grande which is Choronis big beach is about a 10 min walk away and the ocean is just 3 minutes away if you take a small road just by the hotel. That beach is a bit rocky however but it is nice to sit here and watch the sunset. The owner helps out booking trips if asked as well and we went to Cepe and Chuao which are both good day trips.Do I have any complaints? No not really, the electricity some times goes down but that is the same for most of Venezuela. In sum, I would definitely, and have already, recommend this to others.
Amazing and extensive garden, 2 minutes from the ocean, A/C, pool, private bathroom, TV, good parking facilities, great breakfasts, lot's of birds in garden (humming birds, parrots etc), Wifi broadband included, private hammocks, calm location, close to village,

Posada La Bokaina: Great posada en Choroni
I stayed at this posada during my trip to Choroni. The place is really beautiful surrounded by gardens. The rooms are confortable and big. The best with this place is that it is close to the beach but at the same time far enough from the noise of Puerto Colombia, the party town. I really recommend this place to people looking for a relaxed vacation in Choroni
Great gardens, walking distance to the beach, breakfast included, quiet, personalized atention

POSADA EL PAISAJE: MORE THAN A HOME - DOÑA CECILIA IS A QUEEN
This is the cheapest accomodation I could find in Choroni. the place is simple and very modest, but a large welcome and lots of friendship you can find there!
One of the biggest reason for your stay in this POSADA is Doña Cecilia!!!!
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTUNNING AND EXTREME GORGEOUS. She has the wisdon of time and she is very well graduated in the school of life!
Her daughter prepares great local food like these delicious empanadas!!!
And she offers very simple acoomodation...
It is just a room and the toilets and showers are in the back of the Posada, she keeps everything clean!!!
And you can save a lot of money during your stay in Chorini!

Hostal colonial: Cheap and nice
They have rooms of all sizes, all of them very nice and well kept. Some of them have air conditioning, the rest have fans. There is only cold water, but the temperature outside is very hot, so you won't miss the hot water.

You don´t really need to book a place to sleep if you arrive in Choroni on any day other than a National Holiday or a long weekend. Just go into any place marked "posada" or "hostal". Of course, you have to ask for the price first. Prices range from very cheap to very, very expensive. Just keep in mind that cheap doesn´t always mean ugly and dirty!
Bring cash, because there are places where they don't accept cards.

Casa Mori: Choroni's great secret posada!
My family and I stayed in this posada for 4 nights and they were the best of our 2 week vacation to Venezuela. It felt like a little 5 star hotel but with the charm of a bed and breakfast. Our room was awesome with a really comfortable king size bed, everything white and clean. The best was the bathroom, with an open shower and the water falling from a bamboo cane (you must see the pictures from their website to understand, it was supposed to be sexy, but my kids really loved it too!!). Great food and service. It is more expensive than other places, but it was worth it because they have everything included, even an open bar!!!! There were some honeymooners too because its pretty romantic. Can't wait to go back, but alone with my wife...
Food was so surprising, exotic and fresh...even a chocolate fondant straight from the oven, so yummy... not the typical Venezuelan food we found everywhere else. There is a nice pool, garden, hammocks, massages. Walking distance to town. Owners speak English and they were really helpful.
