I spent 3 days there after 3 days of free camping in Cayo Sombrero.
I was looking for a good simply palce to spend my last 3 days, with all the opoortunity of a town.
I don't like luxury hotel, but I prefer family run place....this is perfect, in the quiet of playa sur sector, but not to far from the center where u cna fidn what u want ( form internet to a pharmacy)....only 50 mt from the south beach pier, perfect to take the boat to go to the cayos.
The couple thet run this place give a lot of attention to the maintenance of the room and of the court, and the swimingpool is cleaned every day!
They have restricted rules to avoid nois or other inconveninece to your relax.
In the room there is the TV cable, the ac ( a little bit noisy cause is old), the bathroom is big but no have hot water ( the water container are onthe roof so in the evenin the water is warm for a shower!)
If u need to put somethin in thefringe u can ask to the owner, or if u haven't a 'cava' ( the cooler for the beach) u can ask for it to them. U have only to provide for ice and refrescos ( bear or water) that u cna buy at the neares licoreria.
In april 2006 I spent 70.000 bolivares for a 4 bad room ( we was only 2), big and super clean! I didn't have a room there but I visited the posada to have info for frinds.
This is a Chichi house transformed in a littel posada, they have a little garden, a parking, a kitchen that u can use.
The room are simply but cleen, with Ac and Ventilator in case the ac don't work, Tv satelite, no hot water!
The family is frindly (Avelino y Mary) and the athmosfhere is nice.
It's located 50 meters from the north pier, good location for the boat escursions, in a quiet part of the town, with beautifull trees in the front.
They have 2 nice dogs!

Posada Kanosta is a beautiful guesthouse located in the town of Chichiriviche in front of the sea, taken care of by its own owner, Mr. PRATIZIA (Italian lady) she is very nice person and give to the posada very special attention and amiability to their guest.
The rooms are big and very pretty scenery, have a double bed and one individual (the capability is for 3 people), and have air conditioned that is a plus (but is not a requirement for my), on the out side have a like a living room where you can sit at the sofa and to enjoy the great amount of books that they have or just rest in the hammocks listening the waves of the sea.
The food is Mediterranean and I will say it is spectacular and have exquisite flavors; many people just go there only to have dinner. If u want to stay in touch with the nature of the cayos u can do free camping with your tent on the islands.
Before u have to go to the imparque Office that is only in Tucacas to pay the camp tax, 1000 bolivares per person per day. U have to go to the Banesco bank with the number of Imparque account and after return to the Imparque office for the stam on your permission.
I'll do it but talking with some Cichiriviche frinds told me only a few people do it!
The camping are permitten only on 4 Cayos:
Payclas
Sombrero
Muerto e Sal
On these islands there is a Imparque hose, where the Renger can give u help if u need.
Remember htat during weekend the island are packed and all the time is better to put the tent under a tree but in a inshore wind position so u will not have problems with mosquitos and jejenes!
If u prefer a hammoc, doit but rememebre to take with u a mosquito net or u cannot sleep.
Remember that on the island there isn't potable water, there are only toilet, no electricity, and u can find something to eat only during the day when the lunchonete are opened ( they clase a 3 o'clok during hte week) ore the fisherman offer u fish, lobster or fresh chevice and marineted mariscos( incredible).

it's a nice 4 starts hotel - which does not necessarily translate in 4 starts in other countries. Still, it's a beautiful place, and it's cheap compared to western standards. I think it was about 40 dollars for a double
The rooms are spacious and cosy - and with air-conditioning. The light is always working - even when the rest of town is left in pitch darkness. There's a swimming-pool and several bars and restaurants - at weekends only it seemed. As soon as the weekend was over - and very few people were left - it all seemed to shut down Leave a Comment |
This hotel is a really good one and very near to chichiriviche... is really big and the people is very nice
Is an all inclusive tipe hotel... besides that they have a show at night and their own transportation to one of the keys called Boca Seca (dry mouth) funny name ahhh.. Leave a Comment |
Official 5 stars - the best of Chichirivichi builded in 1999 - but sorry, bad maintained for a hotel so recently builded.

In Chichiriviche you can find a large number of hotels and inns. (I am trying to remember the nameof the one we stayed at).
Meanwhile the link below, is for the one recommended by 'Venezuela Tuyo'
Our apartment was reasonably priced, relaxed, simple, but perfectly suitable, with an equiped kitchen, large patio with splash pool and sunbeds etc They were also happy to add as many put-you-up beds as we wanted.

My Husband and I went to Venezuela with our two kids to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and found our few days in Chichiriviche a treat! not only the 'cayos' were stunning, but most importantly what made our vacation complete was the posada where we stayed: Posada 'Villa Norte'. It is a true hidden gem in this beach community. The place was very well situated, just a few steps from the boats' launching spot to go to the 'cayos' or keys, and a couple minutes drive from the main core; clean and very welcoming and the attention to detail in terms of service was beyond what you'd expect. Not only it was affordable and comfortable, but the meals were fantastic (breakfast and dinner incl., with a 'welcome' coctail) and generously portioned! the chef studied and worked in the US, owned a restaurant in Caracas and decided to settle in this small but fast developing beach community in the state of Falcón by opening an inn, which is only about two months old. Just to give you an example of dinner: during our last night there they made paella valenciana, homemade sangría, and passion fruit mousse for dessert. On our way to the Cayos, they'd prepare a cooler with some snacks and beverages for us to take to the beach; once back they'd have homemade iced tea waiting for us by the gazebo in their large private garden. Everyday they provided fresh towels and linens, and our room had a double bed with two bunk single beds; the bathroom was very clean and comfortable; rooms are air conditioned. Parking is free and in part of their own front yard. Fridge in their kitchen is available for keeping any perishables you might want to have handy for your kids, truly made us felt at home! I'd highly recommend this inn because they go out of their way to make you feel pampered!
Despite having just a few rooms, the inn is very spacious. Also, they highly welcome others who might want to join along for breakfast or dinner with the inn's guests at an additional cost, but absolutely reasonable. Considering that good food is scarce in Chichiriviche, eating here is a luxury and in its own right. The proximity to the beach is an asset too, as well as its very private grounds with seating indoors and out.
