My Husband and I went to Venezuela with our two kids to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and found our few days in Chichiriviche a treat! not only the 'cayos' were stunning, but most importantly what made our vacation complete was the posada where we stayed: Posada 'Villa Norte'. It is a true hidden gem in this beach community. The place was very well situated, just a few steps from the boats' launching spot to go to the 'cayos' or keys, and a couple minutes drive from the main core; clean and very welcoming and the attention to detail in terms of service was beyond what you'd expect. Not only it was affordable and comfortable, but the meals were fantastic (breakfast and dinner incl., with a 'welcome' coctail) and generously portioned! the chef studied and worked in the US, owned a restaurant in Caracas and decided to settle in this small but fast developing beach community in the state of Falcón by opening an inn, which is only about two months old. Just to give you an example of dinner: during our last night there they made paella valenciana, homemade sangría, and passion fruit mousse for dessert. On our way to the Cayos, they'd prepare a cooler with some snacks and beverages for us to take to the beach; once back they'd have homemade iced tea waiting for us by the gazebo in their large private garden. Everyday they provided fresh towels and linens, and our room had a double bed with two bunk single beds; the bathroom was very clean and comfortable; rooms are air conditioned. Parking is free and in part of their own front yard. Fridge in their kitchen is available for keeping any perishables you might want to have handy for your kids, truly made us felt at home! I'd highly recommend this inn because they go out of their way to make you feel pampered!

Despite having just a few rooms, the inn is very spacious. Also, they highly welcome others who might want to join along for breakfast or dinner with the inn's guests at an additional cost, but absolutely reasonable. Considering that good food is scarce in Chichiriviche, eating here is a luxury and in its own right. The proximity to the beach is an asset too, as well as its very private grounds with seating indoors and out.
