My favourite city on the Croatian coast

by sabsi - last update: Jun 27, 2007

The belltower at Peristyl
We came to Split on a day trip from Trogir and this day was definitely one of the highlights of our road trip! The city's atmosphere is absolutely amazing, a mixture of Roman walls (leftovers of Diocletian's summer palace), medieval alleyways and a functioning citycentre - wonderful!
Golden Gate impressions
After having spent a few hours at one of the nicest terrace cafes on this planet we walked around the labyrinthine old town for a few more hours exploring the coffee shops, walls, temples, the new Riva and the old church.
It was a great day which unfortunately turned into a rather grey day because the sun would lose its fight against the clouds. That's why I decided that this will be my first black and white page on VT.

Hope you enjoy it!

B&W works a treat. Isn't Split the most amazing place? The sense of history is wonderful - and getting lost is the best way to appreciate it! leyle

Damn - I did my best to explain everything (on my page) and people still get lost ;)) Love the updates, and love the tip about getting lost. It is what everyone should do to feel the sense of the place!
