New Town Hall: The Town Hall

  • For me Hannover has got the most gorgeous town hall in the world. It looks really old but it was only built in the beginning of the 20th century.

Inside there are four models of Hannover in the different centuries and right after the war.

Plus there is a lift to the tower, great view from up there!!

Directions: Quite close to the city centre. There's a nice park next to it (nice picnic there) and it's close to our lake, the 'Maschsee'.

  • The Maschsee is an artificial lake (But I won't tell ya when it was built ;-) in the city centre. It's really nice there when the weather is fine and you can get yourself a boat and row, sail or paddle across it. And it's great for a walk or to go inline skating as well.

  • The Steinhuder Meer is approx. 45 minutes outside of Hannover. It's a big lake and it's nice for a walk or a boat trip in summer. The main town at the lake is Steinhude. The lake is famous for its smoked fish, especially eels. You have to try them!
