...........ooOOoo...........

UPDATE June 21th: BACK FROM FRANCE!! Again in France in 2008, after Cote d'Azur and Provence in 2007, this year I did a 2000km trip on Loire Valley and on the coast of Normandy and Brittany -> 2 days in Paris, then: Orleans - Beaugency - Ch.Chambord - Ch.Blois - Ch.Cheverny - Amboise - Ch.Chenonceaux - Tours - Villandry (Ch.&gardens) - Ch.Azay le Rideau - Ch.Usse - Chinon - Angers - Ch.Serrant - Nantes - Rennes - Mont St-Michel - St.Malo - Cancale - Rennes - Rouen - Brugges (Belgium) - Lille.

TRAVEL PLANS 2008:

August 2008: Austria (for the 7th time)

September 2008: Greece - islands

May 5th, 2008 - I'm back from my first trip to London - hope to write soon my VT page about it :)

My Saint Tropez page is ready .. now the best St. Tropez page on VT :) check it out!

January 4th, 2008 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :) I'm back from a great NYE and skiing holidays in Zell am See, Austria.

September 22nd, 2007 - Back from France. The places visited: Nice, Cap Ferrat, Eze Village, Monaco, Cannes, Frejus, Grasse, Castellane, Canyon du Verdon, Manosque, Apt, Aix-en-Provence, Nimes, Aven D'Orgnac, Gorges D'Ardeche, Avignon, Arles, Hyeres, St. Tropez. Pictures and fresh memories are waiting to become tips on my pages :)

August 20th, 2007 - I'm back from Austria - Salzamergut region. I have stayed in St. Wolfgang am Wolfgangsee (one of the many lakes in the region). The place is fantastic for an active outdoor holiday. Mountain biking, swimming, hiking around the lakes or just taking a boat, tasting a coffee, an icecream, some beer or the local food. I've been to Gosau to check out the green lake and the view of the Dachstein Glacier, to Hallstatt - the pearl of the lakes, to Postdalm (hiking region), to Schafbergspitze (1783m with a 360 degree panorama of the lakes and mountains), Salzburg (crowded with tourists) and Vienna. This time conclusion is that is better in small resorts like St. Wolfgang than in bigger ones or in cities. I truly and deeply recommend this village on lake Wolfgangsee for everybody!

June 27th, 2007 - I'm back from Barcelona, lovely city, nice people. Didn't meet any VTers though. I think it's going to be a while since I will build my Barcelona page as I'm busy with stuff :(

Jan 1st, 2007 - I have started my Rothenburg ob der Tauber page - this is one of the most romantic city in Europe.

Dec 2nd, 2006 - Back from Austria, more exactly I was visiting Vienna for the third time - during Christmas time. Took some photos, a lot in the zoo :).

Aug 20th, 2006 - My Florence page is done. You can go check it out. Hope to make the top10 :)

July, 2006 - I am back from ITALY!! I have made indeed like 70% of the plan below, this mainly because the major heat - over 36 degrees, which made me decide to skip some city visit and one day in Sorrento to avoid sun burns and other problems.

May-June 2006 - As always I've chosen June in order to have less crowds of locals and tourists, considering also that my destination is a very known place -
Italy. As June last year I have spent five really great days in Rome, now it's time to get back to 'the boot' and discover the regions and their charming cities. Looking out for gems, smaller interesting places rather than the big cities like Milano or Napoli, my travel plans looks, after really weeks of preparations: Venice - Verona - Riva del Garda - Malcesine - Brenzone - Bardolino - Sirmione - Bergamo - Bellagio - Moneglia - Cinque Terre - Pisa - Lucca - Prato - Florence - San Gimignano - Sienna - Montepulciano - Todi - Spoleto - Sorrento - Capri - Pompeii - Herculaneum - Assisi - Gubbio - Castelnouvo - San Marino - Padova.

2005, December 17-24 - Tux, Austria. A really wonderful winter resort with lots (more than 220km) ski routes, and great cable transport. I have finished the page for this trip, under Hintertux address - you can go now check it out.
2005 summer holiday: For the summer holiday of 2005 I had carefully planned and then followed a pretty busy holiday 'schedule'. The holiday had two separate stages, as following:

I. Five days in Rome, Italy

II. Twelve days in a 6000km driving tour (I've managed to make about 80% of what I have planned, because of the tightness of the schedule - the one of you I have talked before the trip knows what I am talking about), enjoying lovely places in Austria, Germany and visiting for the first time a bit of Switzerland:

Bucharest - Budapest - Konigsee lake in Berchtesgaden Land - Schonau am Konigsee - Herrenchiemsee on the Chiemsee lake - Inzell - Reit im Winkl - Schielersee - Tegernsee - Walchensee - Kochel am See - Lindau - Zurich - Mainau Island - Bern - Lucerne - Rhine Falls - Speyer - Heidelberg - Wurzburg - Rothenburg - Dinkelsbuehl - Budapest - Bucharest

The following I consider to be my best pages on VT, do visit if you have time to see my work:
Salzburg (Austria)
Amsterdam (Netherlands)
Speyer Tehnik Museum (Germany)
Brugge (Belgium)
Strasbourg (France)
Neuschwenstein Castle (Germany)
Hochenschwangau Castle (Germany)
Prague (Czech Republic)
Vienna (Austria)
Frankfurt (Germany)
Innsbruck (Austria)
St.Tropez (France)
Wurzburg (Germany)
Florence (Italy)
Pottery craftsman in Marginea

March 2005 - My second visit to Vienna. A few adventures with accommodation in Kleinzell, but after all we met a nice austrian family and their lovely guesthouse. So we've stayed in Kleinzell (some 100 km from Vienna), but we managed to get up early and have two full days in Vienna. Also we've seen the benedictine monastery in Melk, the shoping complex in St.Polten and the Shopping City Sud (biggest of it's kind in Europe). I still haven't found time to update my Vienna pages with impressions and pics from this trip, but soon.

15-17 January 2005 - Skiing in Poiana Brasov

26-28 August 2004 - Visiting the monasteries in Bucovina and Moldova (Romania)
Departing Bucharest on Friday the 26th of August, I drove to Piatra Neamt, where we found the beautiful pension Ambiance. Same day we headed for Bucovina and visited the monasteries of Voronet, Sucevita, Moldovita and Putna. On the way we stopped at the Bicaz Dam, the lake Izvorul Muntelui and then the wonderful Bicaz Gorges and the original Red Lake.
Next day we entered Targu Neamt in order to visit Neamtului Fortress and the Neamt monastery. On the way we stopped to see Vanatori-Neamt Natural Park with its rare bison colony. Then we turned back and visited the nice monastery Agapia which is painted by the great romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu.
In the area there are many other places to visit, like Marginea village with its famous black ceramics (see the picture inside one workshop), more monasteries, memorial houses that we left to visit for the next time :) The landscapes in this region are really wonderful!! Enjoy the pages!!

During the weekend of 21-22 August 2004 I went with a couple of friends in Ardeal - one of the nicest part of the country (north-west, Apuseni Mountains) and visited two caves (Poiana lui Ionele and Scarisoara), plus the 13th century fortress city of Calnic and on our way back stopped again in the beautiful Sibiu.

Short introduction of myself and VT

As you maybe know, there aren't many Romanian made pages here on VT, but some Romanians caught this virus (which I caught back in 2000), like my friend Fam_Stoica, or Diana75, or Romanian_Bat, or josephescu, and a couple more that forgives me not to mention their names (I buy a beer at the next VT meeting) :)

You can watch a bit of Romania trough my pictures and also tips, facts and pictures from places I've been. I love to take pictures, it's my main hobby, I do it for nearly 20 years now :)

I did not have the chance to travel so much (though it seem I keep going places in the last 5 years), but I promise I'll do so and gather some nice photos to share with you on Virtual Tourist. Because this is the meaning of this site, sharing memories and travel advices along you good people of the entire World.

You are very welcomed enter and enjoy my pages, with only one condition, that is to give me feedback, add comment, rate tips ;)

Thanks for visiting and do come again .. because the world is moving and so am I :))
I guess most of you folks are interested also to know more about my country - Romania.
I have to admit that I was tempted to fill in more pages about the foreign destinations that I have seen rather than building some good info pages about my home place. But I still think I show some interesting insights on my Romanian pages. Do check them out and read about my country. If you did not yet visit, then you might want to put it on your travel plan. I'm here in Bucharest and I will be more than glad to meet you in person :)
NEW! Take a look to my postcards travelogues - these are the postcards I have received so far from VT members
