Nightlife Spot: Jazz Club

Since 35 years the most famous musicians of Jazz are playing their wonderful music in Hannover's Jazz Club. Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Pat Metheny are just some of them. And when we are lucky, we can see and hear them live and for free on Trammplatz in front of New Town Hall on Ascension Day, when Hannover swings.

Nightlife Spot: Pavillon

End of June till beginning of July musicians from all over the world gather in Hannover for the World Beat Festival - the Masala. Most performances are in Pavillon, a festival hall near the main trainstation.

The music is sometimes modern and sometimes traditional from the country, the musicians are from.

Nightlife Spot: Schauspielhaus

Schauspielhaus Hannover was build in 1992. Since then it made its name famous with spectacular performances like "Hamlet" from Shakespeare, with which they toured even to South America. Last year the best in my eyes was "Best of Dreigroschenoper" with Dominique Horwitz, who is a famous German actor.

Schauspielhaus also houses the Theatre Museum, the only one in Germany.

Nightlife Spot: Staatsoper Hannover

Staatsoper Hannover is one of the best opera houses of Germany. Spectacular performances like a very modern and much discussed "Don Giovanni" amde it known all over Germany and even in the US. It is one of the top 20 opera houses in the world!

The big opera house is a building made by famous architect Laves.

Nightlife Spot: GOP

The GOP-Variete in Hannover is one of the top addresses for places with discriminating live-entertainment in a stylish setting. This is proven by the nearly 100,000 visitors every year, who come to see the nine weekly shows. This establishment has already been offering monthly changing international variety shows of a high standard for nearly half a century. Visits to GOP are experiences involving all the senses. For the 275 guests on the ground floor and on the gallery can enjoy delicacies from kitchen and cellar during the show.

Landesbuehne shows a small but very interesting programme. Most performancess are modern and entertaining. One regular performance is "Theatersport". where the actors interact with the public. That is a lot of fun and shows how brilliant the actors are.
