The BOB, downtown, is the most...
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • The BOB, downtown, is the most popular night spot in the area. It has 4 floors of restaurants, clubs, and a comedy revue. They charge cover after 9pm. There are clubs and bars all over the place downtown, but the best are located near the arena (and the BOB). I recommend The BOB, Taps, Flannigans, and J. Gardellas. Bulls Head is good, but VERY noisy. Opus is very popular with aging yuppie types. Stay away from any bars in the Amway Grand Plaza complex, and those on Division Ave. (they advertise a lot, but are dull, dull, dull). Go to Mulligans and The Intersection in Eastown for the best live music and the grunge scene. The bars and clubs in the suburbs tend to attract a redneck crowd.
The BOB is fun because there is so much to do in one building.

Okay, it may not be the Smithsonian, but my family likes this museum. When my kids were small (preschool-first grade), this was a nice place to go. It's not too expensive, and we always enjoyed the planetarium, the carousel, and the nature exhibits.
