General Tips: A plaque near the Church .
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: I am not sure what is written on this plaque ,but I do know that '' Alcalde '' in Spanish means '' Mayor '' in English,so I would think this is a commemorative plaque for a Mayor of the Town of Fuengirola.

It looked so pretty that It was worth taking some pic's.
btw the walk from centre of Fuengirola to the market plaza was some where between 15 or 20 minutes walk ,depending on how fast you walk I guess.

General Tips: Fuengirola has a fantastic Esplenada.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Fuengirola - Esplenade de Fuengirola
  • Esplenade de Fuengirola

  • Favorite Thing: Promenade, Esplenade ,Walkway , just some of the names for the fantastic and beautiful walkways that are along the beaches of Fuengirola I believe that there is a stretch of 8 Km of walkway from one end of Fuengirola to the other end ,and I sure walked at least 8 Km the day I went there by myself. Spain is so great with their places to walk and sit on the benches ,they become a real meeting place for the people
Sunday is the traditional day when the Spanish people walk the Esplenadas.
It really is something you must see for yourself

Fondest Memory: Walking and people watching , and more walking and eating some Tappas,or Churros etc then some more walking.

General Tips: Plaza de San Rafael and Roman Monument
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: This is as far as I walked , I came from the Bus station then I went to the Marina and I strolled along the promenade to the Playa de Los Boliches ,past the Virgen del Camen
statue and then ended up here at the Plaza de San Rafael , and then back through the business street , a very busy and narrow business street , back to the centre of Fuengirola where the busstation and the train station's are located , located.
Very close to each other just a few minutes walking.

Fondest Memory: Well Fuengirola was nice ,but it is a busy place and it seems to have outgrown itself .
But it is very enjoyable and fantastic place to walk & walk & walk. Enjoy it if you go there.

General Tips: There are Feria's in Spain and this is one of them
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: In Fuengirola and other Cities in Spain, a statue of the Virgen del Carmen is taken out to sea in a world famous Marine procession on July 16th, for a blessing of the waters, the virgen Carmen is the protector of the seaman/fishermen.
This event should be some thing wonderful to see.

Thanks Hansi. Good to see you and Lori again. I am supporting the Dutch in the football. The Dutch FA asked all English fans to support them!
