As soon as I got out the Somerset MRT station and turned to the Orchard road, I was surprised. The street was packed with pedestrians. People walked shoulder in shoulder. Then I realized I had arrived Singapore in the middle of the Great Singapore Sale and it is Friday. That explained everything. Well, what can I say? It is shopping time. It is funny when you travel so far to do shopping. The sale, VAT and the heat outside, just do what you have to do sometimes, and that means check-in and hit the shopping mall which it has plenty along this famous road. |
