Full of history and romance...

by Lilasel - last update: Jan 29, 2006

Nafpaktos’s got all these elements for being picturesque: green enough, plenty of waters, big old platans, clear sea, spotless yards with beautiful gardens, a marvelous fort and small port together which is the smallest and the most beautiful in all over Mediterranean and its powerful castle that is “testifier” of its adventurous history.
I have visited one of my favourite towns in Greece twice: in march,2003 and in may,2005.

Navpaktos looks like a wonderful little town. I can understand why it is one of your favourites!

Great historical page. I like seeing castles/forts built by foreigners on someone else's soil (the Genoese castles around Istanbul for example).
