Lord Krishna Bless Us all !! | Lord Srikrishna and Mother Radha at ISKON, Mayapur |
On 3rd February'08 , we visited Mayapur, World Head Quarter of ISKON, and Birth Place of Shri Chaitayana Mahaprabhu and founder of ISKON movement Sri La 108 A.C. Prabhupada Bhaktivedanta. (Please visit my Mayapur page for the details) |
| One of the most wonderful creeks in Sunderbans!! |
| | Weekend Gateway to Home of Royal Bengal Tiger!! I don't really know why it took me three and half years to build the tips on Sunderbans, the home for the Royal Bengal Tigers. But it is for sure VT official Giampiero and Sophie has injected the adrenaline into me by making me a "Home Town Hero" as it is a Weekend Gateway and a perfect subject for Weekend Warrior Contest, hence the newly built tips on Sunderbans. Please enjoy as much we enjoyed.
Though the population is dwindling day by day, still the population is strong with 279 tigers! It's now growing!I hope the more we discuss about Sunderban Tigers, the Govt will be more alert to protect them and the poachers ( do they have any heart at all?) may get discouraged by the alert forest guards and Coast Guards.
May I invite all my friends to visit this wonderful forest and enjoy the beauties captured by me. Oh yeah! I was there on the day of TSUNAMI, in fact me and my friend Debasis's wife Soma got up early at 4AM and was on the deck of the boat. We noticed the water is with extra bounce, we asked the Sareng, why the water is bouncing as it should not be in the river. He said it is high tide and may be due to Longest day the water is more bouncy!! Well when we returned to Gosaba town during the day we learnt what has happened in , Andamans, Chennai, Indonesia and other places.

WE AT KOLKATA Welcome to my world
For many days I have been thinking to change my home page but time and my lethargy did not allow me to complete the page. I am sure it will remain incomplete.
I am Goutam Mitra; from Calcutta, India. I am married. My wife is Rakhi, a school teacher and my Daughter Aparajita (Munu) is in 6th standard with St.Joseph & Mary's School , Kolkata. I stay in Calcutta, now it is called kolkata. I was away from this city for about 22 years due to my postings in different parts of the country. I had the chance to see my country very deeply and learn several Indian languages.
Things I love to do: Traveling, Reading, writing to friends, listening to music (I love music of all sorts from Rock to Indian classical); work hard, photography is my passion. If I have nothing to do I watch movies and read simultaneously. Besides all these I am still a student of history and I have interest in Archeology.
I have not been to many places abroad except Bangkok and Singapore. But I have been to our neighboring country Nepal about 150 times and to Kathmandu about 50 times. I have traveled almost all the parts of our country. It's really an amazing country to see. Many religions, many cultures, many states, the Himalayas, the Indian ocean, great beaches, the Thar desert, beautiful hill resorts, its sunrise, its sunset, 6 great rivers, the age old tradition and the mixture of modern civilization all makes it a great place to see an learn. In my view, India is the only country in the world where all six seasons can be witnessed. Now ,is not that ,an amazing thing? If you don't believe it, may be that is the reason you will have to visit India. Though I would love to build many pages on India, but most of the photographs are taken with Analog Camera, those photographs will have to be scanned and then put into for the viewers of V.T. may be if time permits, I will.
Since, I have interest in various cultures and history, I would be most willing to help any of our V.T. viewers, intend to visit India or who would like to know about our cultures, customs and the country. Please feel free to ask. | | | We at The Residency Chandannagore ( see Chan.page) |

| | Weekend Trip to Fraserganj in Sothernmost Bengal. We recently had a weekend trip for two night three days trip to Fraserganj/ Bakkhali beach. It's situated at the Southern most tip of Bengal in the Bay of Bengal. I have the page ready with lots of videos ( some very rare like catching of Mud Fish). My operation at The Woodlands Hospital! I offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to all my VT friends, who wished me, spoke to me, sent messages, flowers and stood besides me during my operation on 27th March and recovery process. I am still at home recoveing. Thanks to all my VT friends for your support and wishes. VT is a great community. The first message I got at the hospital from Roz.van ( VT member from Ireland at 4.00AM) and later on from my great friends from The Philippines( I love you Pinoys), Mirjana ( VT Mirianmark from Macedonija, we also spoke for 10mts), Savi( From Malaysia), Urvashi ( Kathmandu , who called daily), and all others who stood by. I love you all. I am fully fit now.
During this time, I also got a personal letter from Sri Gopijana Ballbha Das, who maintains the official website of ISKON, "www.mayapur.com" asking for my permission to use the text and photographs of my Mayapur ( the World Head Quarters of ISKON) Page in VT, to be used in their official website for the benefit of the travellers visiting World HQ of ISKON. I feel this is proud moment for any VT member to be officially associated with The Lord. I am a Lord Krishna devotee, I am grateful to The Lord for this rare honour and opportunity to serve the Lord.
I request all of you to find out time for visiting their website www.mayapur.com | | |
